Dear Friends,

Many thanks indeed for your huge support for Dan’s talk at the RGS on 2nd December. Many of you have made donations which are much appreciated. As it so happens with tube on that evening, many of you might not have been able to reach the RGS,  we feel the Gods must have been with us when we made the very difficult decision to cancel.

However, we have booked the Lecture Theatre at the Royal Geographical Society for Monday 20th June 2011 – a date for your diary, we have a very special speaker coming to join us on that evening, and we look forward to seeing you then.

The Spiti Valley has had the first big snow fall and the Kunzun-La pass is now closed, a little earlier than usual. The Spiti people are in for a hard winter as the cash crops were destroyed during the bad weather in the summer. Many will not have enough to feed their families and keep warm. Any donations for their wellbeing would be most gratefully received.

We will keep you informed of life in Spiti.
