Joan Pollock has spent much of her life travelling the world, taking photographs. In 1993 she visited the Spiti Valley in northern India and was so moved by the plight of its people that she founded the Spiti Projects Charity. Since then the charity has built a Hospital for the villagers, followed by a School, a Cra Centre, a Medical Clinic and a Community Centre. Of course, all this has been captured in the most intimate and illuminating photographs.
